내 편을 들다를 영어로?? Daily 영어회화 공부

안녕하세요~ 내 편을 들다를 영어로 어떻게 표현할까요? 내 편을 들다 = take my side라고 표현합니다.

 

여러 사람들과 함께 일하는 공간에서 서로 다른 의견 때문에 말 못 할 갈등이 있죠..

그러다 보면.. 내편이 되어주는 동료도 있고.. 반대하는 동료도 있어요..

그럼 영어로 동료들이 나의 편을 들다 라고 어떻게 표현할까요?

내 편을 들다 = take my side라고 표현할 수 있습니다.

I remember a time I faced a particularly tough problem at work. Our department has been assigned to develop automatic sales system for our company. None of us had ever developed this kind of system before, so we had to work extra hard

 

* Assign : 할당하다, 배정하다

 

When we were about halfway done developing the system, the company changed its mind about what they wanted the system to do. Making those changes would have meant starting the project again from scratch. To solve the problem, I spoke with the department heads and explained to them why I was dead set against the changes they had requested.

 

* Halfway : 절반 정도, 중간에 * Start from scratch : 맨 처음부터 시작하다. * Department head : 부서장

* Dead set : 단호한 자세, 부동자세

 

I told them that it would mean redoing the project, that would push bakc the completion date and cost a lof of money.

In the end, management agreed with me and decided to stick to the original plan. I was very relieved that the company took my side. I know that when I dont agree with a decision, it pays to speak up.

 

* Stick to ~ 을 고수하다 * relieve : 완화하다 * Take side : 편을 들다 * Pay : (일 등이) 수고한 보람이 있다
